Ekma Farm has been improving food security in Kajiado county since 2011. Tomato, watermelon, onion and passion fruits are the main crops grown at the farm. The farm is situated in a low lying area at the foot of Ngong hills approximately 25 kilometers South West of Ngong town near Saikeri trading centre. The farm lies between two ridges and the area is characterized by wooden grassland, open grasslands, semi desert bush land and shrubs. The deep sandy loam soils and hot dry weather conditions provide a conducive environment for quick growing and sun ripe fruits.

The farm aims to build the capacity of the pastoral community to enable them produce their own food; introduce the pastoral community to alternative livelihood strategies; promote environmental conservation; and commence on value addition to both crop and livestock produce.
